PART 2

Now We Need You: Rangeman Films Calls on the Community to Stand Up for Local Athletes

Parents, coaches, athletes, alumni and supporters are being asked to attend the September 16 Palm Beach County School Board meeting

For more than a decade, Rangeman Films has stood on the sidelines for Palm Beach County’s kids.

Now we’re asking the community to stand with us.

In Part 1, we explained why Rangeman Films is questioning the application of Palm Beach County School District’s new media protocols.

Here’s what you need to remember:

Our application was for the 2026 football season.

The District’s published protocol describes the credential as specific to football and “specific to one sport.”

We were told our application was denied because we did not publish written sports articles at least once per week.

We responded by beginning to publish written articles.

Despite correcting the issue identified by Media Relations, we were told the decision was final for the year.

We have subsequently been informed by multiple athletic departments that the restrictions extend beyond football and affect our ability to cover other Palm Beach County sports at both the middle-school and high-school levels.

And our review of publicly available information has raised legitimate questions about whether the weekly written-article requirement used to deny Rangeman Films has been applied consistently across approved applicants.

Again, we are not asking for another media organization to lose access.

We are asking for the same opportunity.

Now It’s Time for the Community to Be Heard

If Rangeman Films has ever covered your child…

If we’ve posted your team’s score…

If we’ve interviewed your athlete…

If one of our videos gave your son or daughter exposure…

If we’ve photographed a moment your family will always remember…

If your child participated in one of our internships…

If you’re a coach who has watched us show up year after year…

We’re asking you to stand with us.

We encourage Rangeman Films supporters to attend the upcoming School Board of Palm Beach County meeting:

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 — 5:00 PM

Fulton-Holland Educational Services Center – Board Room

3300 Forest Hill Blvd.

West Palm Beach, FL 33406

The District’s official notice lists the regular School Board meeting for September 16 at 5:00 p.m.

Come Peacefully. Come Respectfully. Come for the Kids.

This isn’t a protest against another media organization.

This isn’t about attacking District employees.

And this isn’t about creating disruption.

We want our supporters to show Palm Beach County what independent local sports coverage means to its families.

If you’re willing to speak publicly, tell the School Board your own story.

Tell them what Rangeman Films has meant to your athlete.

Tell them whether our coverage helped your child gain exposure.

Tell them what it meant when someone showed up with a camera for a game that otherwise received little media attention.

Tell them about the opportunities we’ve provided students interested in media.

And respectfully ask the Board the questions we’re still trying to have answered:

Why has a football-specific credential denial affected access to other sports?

Are all media applicants being evaluated according to the same published standards?

Why isn’t there a reasonable reconsideration process after an organization corrects the deficiency that caused its denial?

Student-Athletes Should Be Seen

This is why we’re asking people to show up.

Palm Beach County has incredible student-athletes.

Not all of them attend powerhouse programs.

Not all of them have thousands of social-media followers.

Not every family can hire someone to produce highlights.

Not every athlete already has college coaches watching.

Sometimes somebody simply needs to show up.

That’s what Rangeman Films has tried to do for more than a decade.

Show up.

Point the camera toward the kid nobody is talking about.

Ask the athlete for an interview.

Post the highlight.

Tell the story.

Give the student photographer an opportunity to learn.

Give the athlete another opportunity to be seen.

Your Voice Matters

We aren’t asking supporters to speak for Rangeman Films if they don’t know our story.

Tell your own story.

That’s more powerful.

If Rangeman Films has positively affected your athlete, family, team or school, tell the Board exactly how.

The District says members of the public wishing to speak should register with the Board Office by noon on the day of the meeting. Written comments may also be submitted to boardoffice@palmbeachschools.org, and the District says comments intended to reach Board members before the meeting should arrive by noon the preceding day.

September 16 — Stand With Us

For more than a decade, we’ve asked athletes to trust us with their stories.

We’ve asked parents to trust us around their children.

We’ve asked coaches to trust us on their sidelines.

We’ve asked student interns to trust us to teach them.

Now we’re asking for something in return.

Stand with us.

Not against the School District.

For fairness.

Not against other media.

For equal standards.

Not simply for Rangeman Films.

For the kids whose stories still deserve to be told.

Support the athletes.

Support student opportunities.

Support independent local media.
